Who Are Our Students?

Almost anyone, but especially students with varying special needs. Our staff, which includes Music Therapists, are prepared to teach students with issues ranging from Autism to ADHD. We combine the Special-Needs-User-Friendly language of music with a Flow-based educational system that is flexible and effective. For some, the adapted language will be used for life and for others, they may transition into reading traditional notation. Please watch the documentary, Occupational Octaves, to learn more.

Lee Stockner, owner of The Occupational Octaves School of Music, is not only the pioneer of the Special-Needs-User-Friendly language, he is also a former NYSSMA judge and taught classical lessons for ten years before entering the Special Education world. We offer high-level traditional lessons along with our adaptive approaches.
